 About Our Founder, Dr. Hacker
Dr. Steven Hacker founded our practice in 1994. He started in a small office just over the Intracoastal Bridge on George Bush Blvd in Delray Beach. This was long before Atlantic Avenue became a trendy destination spot. Originally, working just 2 days a week with Dr. John B. Squires the practice quickly outgrew its small quarters.
Word spread about Dr. Steven Hacker, a Phi Beta Kappa, who was barely twenty when one of twelve students selected to enter medical school early through the prestigious Junior Honors Medical Program. As a dermatologist to many of the doctors, models and celebrities in Palm Beach County, his large practice went completely state of the art electronic in 2000 when he digitized over 25,000 patient charts. This was years before the President even mentioned electronic health records. His reputation for providing expert, caring, and ethical dermatology earned him recognition from his colleagues and peer physicians as they repeatedly voted him a Castle Connolly Florida “Top Doctor”. As an author, he is published in textbooks, and more than twenty peer-reviewed medical journals.
As a skin cancer surgeon, Dr. Hacker has treated over 15,000 skin cancers many requiring Mohs micrographic surgery for high-risk tumors located on the face.
Many years ago, the practice expanded when two other expert incredible dermatologists, Dr. Deborah Saff and Dr. Russel Glaun, joined him. Both Dr. Saff and Dr. Glaun are also recognized as “Top Physicians” and practice the same high quality expert dermatology as Dr. Hacker. Dr.Saff received her training at Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Russel Glaun is triple board certified in Dermatology, Dermatopathology and Anatomic Pathology.
All of our doctors are board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. This is the only board that recognizes dermatologists as a result of Board exams and completing a certified dermatology residency.
Dr. Hacker is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, fellow of the American Society for Dermatology Surgery and a fellow of the American Society of Mohs Surgery and fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Hacker is also the author of The Medical Entrepreneur Pearls, Pitfalls and Practical Business Advice for Doctors, and founder of Skinstore.com and PassportMD.com.
Dr. Hacker is known for leading the way in terms of cutting edge dermatology and is excited to have recently introduced Coolsculpting by Zeltig as a procedure to safely remove fat in a non-invasive manner.
